At this time, we operate as an out of network provider, which makes it possible to focus on your specific health needs without being limited by an insurance-based model. This allows us to work one-on-one with you for 60 minutes and to evaluate and treat the whole body. Payment is due at each appointment, which means you will never receive a surprise bill. Upon request, we will provide an itemized super bill with the codes you need to submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement, using your out-of-network benefits for physical therapy. Please confirm your out-of-network benefits with your insurance provider beforehand if you plan to seek reimbursement.

Nope! The state of Massachusetts does not require a physician referral or prescription to receive physical therapy services. If you plan to seek reimbursement, please check with your insurance provider if a referral will be needed.

The pelvic floor is a group of muscles and connective tissues that create a hammock or bowl in the base of the pelvis, providing direct support to the pelvic organs including the bowel, bladder, and reproductive organs. Its job is to support bodily functions like urinary, bowel, and sexual function, as well as to help stabilize your abdominal core, low back, and hips.

At your first visit, we will spend ample time discussing your medical history and primary concerns. A number of topics will likely be covered including the bladder, bowel, sexual function, and how the pelvic floor relates to your symptoms. After having this conversation, we will perform an external assessment looking at posture, the spine, hips, and abdominal core. If you are comfortable with it and give full consent, we will also perform an internal assessment (either vaginally or rectally) to better understand how your pelvic floor is functioning and connecting with the rest of your body. From there we will discuss initial findings and a direction for your individual plan of care.

We ask a minimum of 48 business hours notice to reschedule or cancel an appointment so that we can offer openings to other patients waiting to be seen.
Any appointments canceled less than 24 business hours in advance will be charged a $50 cancellation fee. If this happens a second time or a patient “no shows” their scheduled appointment, the full amount owed for the visit will be charged.

Unfortunately, we aren’t allowed to see Medicare patients at this time, even if you plan to pay out-of-pocket. We recommend you use pelvicrehab.com to find a pelvic floor physical therapist who accepts these insurances.
-
Absolutely! If you are menstruating, we can still perform any and all areas of treatment. With that being said, if you are uncomfortable performing an internal exam, we can adjust your session accordingly. Ensuring your comfort is our top concern.
-
We recommend wearing something comfortable and exercise friendly. An outfit that includes a sports bra and/or sweats or yoga pants is ideal.

Pregnancy is a wild ride and we are here to help you at any stage of it. Whether you recently got pregnant and want to make sure you are on the right path, experiencing unfavorable symptoms such as pain or incontinence, or simply want to prep for childbirth during the final stages of your pregnancy, we are excited to be a part of your pregnancy journey!

Typically we see postpartum mamas 6 weeks after giving birth. This allows your body an initial period of rest and recovery. It also allows your OB/GYN or midwife to give you clearance for physical therapy at your first postpartum doctor’s visit (which is typically 6 weeks after birth). With that being said, if you are having difficulty and want to get in sooner or are just itching to get started, come on in! We’ll just need to postpone any internal assessments until 6 weeks postpartum.
